Abstract
423,995. Valve circuits for wireless reception. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Oct. 25, 1934, No. 30630. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1933. [Class 40 (v)] In order to suppress parasitic or eddy oscillations in the oscillator portion of a pentagrid or similar type of frequency changer valve, the inductance coupled to the anode electrode of the oscillator is damped. This may be effected by utilizing the resistance R2 in the high tension circuit of the oscillator anode g<2>, which resistance is effectively in shunt with the coil L1, on the natural frequency of which the valve tends to oscillate. Alternatively L1 may be enclosed in an asbestos casing or may be wholly or partly covered with asbestos. Specifications 408,256, 408,328, and 408,330 are referred to.
