423,028. Mills and apparatus. WRIGHT, S. A., Linden House, and GREENWOOD, J. E., 11, Westborough Drive, both in Halifax, Yorkshire. May 18, 1933, No. 14362. [Class 59] In a machine for crushing metal turnings comprising a hopper E fitted with spiral knives F adapted to co-operate with knives G carried by a rotary shaft H passing through the hopper, the turnings pass to a bottom cutter J after being crushed by the knives, and a chip-clearer b mounted on the shaft below the cutter J and having four teeth, Fig. 3, of different radii and shapes, is adapted in one revolution to clear the space at the back and sides of the boss a supporting the shaft.
