Abstract

422,850. Fuel - injection pumps. SHELDRICK, W. A., 12, Church Road, Canton, Cardiff. July 17, 1933, No. 20120. [Class 102 (i)] A fuel-injection pump comprises a steel liner 9 housed in the pump body, and surrounding a cylinder 13. Ports 10 in the liner align with ports 15 in the reduced end of the cylinder, and form the suction passages. The plunger 16 is provided with a longitudinal bore 17, connected to radial ports 18 the outer ends of which enter slots in the circumference of the plunger. A cup-shaped valve 19 surrounds the plunger and is adjusted axially by a worm, segment and lever to vary the end of delivery, the fuel being byepassed directly into the suction ports.
