Abstract
422,771. Sifting-apparatus. VLOEBERGHS, A., 209, Avenue d'Italie, Antwerp, Belgium. Aug. 13, 1934, No. 23369. [Class 117] A screen, mainly intended for the removal of flat pieces from coal, comprises a grid formed of angle bars 1 disposed with the ridges uppermost and in one plane, and a series of vertical flat bars 4 disposed in the spaces between the bars 1. These spaces increase in the forward direction of the screen, preferably by decreasing the width of the flanges of the bars, and the lower edges of the bars 4 are also inclined upwards so that the vertical dimension of the screening openings also increase in the same sense. To allow adjustment of the openings, the bars 4 are secured to transverse bars 5, one at the feed end being pivotally supported and the other at the discharge end being vertically adjustable as by screw-and-nut devices.
