Abstract
420,328. Bassinets. WILSON, J. W., Crawford House, Hunslet, Leeds. Sept. 5, 1933, No. 24552. [Class 52 (ii)] [See also Group XXXII] In a perambulator the undercarriage to which the handle is pivoted is mounted upon the wheel axles through resilient buffers and the body is mounted on the undercarriage through further resilient buffers. The underframe comprises longitudinal members 3 connected to the axles 1 by resilient buffers 4 and carrying transverse members 6 through further resilient buffers 7. The handle 5 is pivoted to the members 3 and the axles 1 are interconnected by the usual cross frame 2. The body is mounted by means of its base board 11 upon the underframe by means of hook members 13 engaging under the member 6 at one end and by spigots 10 passing through apertures in the member 6 at the other end and secured by nuts 12 or the fastening at this end may comprise a lever 14. The body when removed may be mounted on a stand to serve as a cot and the stand may comprise two U-shaped frames 19 pivoted together at 20 and provided with catches 21. Pivoted U-shaped legs 22 are provided. In a modification the base board 11 may be provided with pivoted legs which fold into recesses in the base board when not required. The buffers 7 instead of being provided on the underframe may be carried by the body base board and the body is adapted to be turned endfor-end.
