Abstract

419,818. Striking-plates for latches. WHITE, H. FISHER-, 18, Oakeshott Avenue, West Hill, Highgate, London. May 9,1934, No. 13535/33. [Class 44.] In a striking-plate for a latch, to prevent rattling a tongue f carried by a plate k projects inwardly at an angle from the front edge g of the slot c for the latch and is provided with holes h whereby its inclination may be altered by a nail h<1 >or other tool. The tongue f may be of flat or curved section and a groove or perforations may be formed at its junction with the plate k. In a modification for right and left hand doors, a single slot with two plates k carrying tongues f and a striking part b extending across its width is provided for a latch and lock bolt, the tongue against the lock bolt being bent substantially at right angles to the striking-plate.
