Abstract

165,139. Ladefoged, N. N. Feb. 11, 1920. ' Striking-plates for latches.-In a fastening for doors &c. in which a spring-pressed latch bolt is adapted to co-operate with an inclined surface on the striking-plate to prevent rattling, the striking- plate a, arranged on the door jamb parallel with the edge of the door, is provided with one or two inclined tongues c, formed by bending in the edge or opposite edges of the latch recess. Fig. 2 shows a swing door in which the latch bolt is pressed by its spring into the recess b and wedges between the tongues c, c. In Fig. 4, which shows a construction for a door opening in one direction only, the spring-pressed latch acts against a single tongue c to press the door against the bead e.
