417,092. Axle structures for motor vehicles. BAKER, E. K., 10228, Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Jan. 6, 1934, Nos. 576 and 577. Convention date, Jan. 6, 1933 and Dec. 4, 1933. [Class 79 (iv).] A pair of stub axles, connected at their inner ends by a linked parallelogram of which the axle-ends form two opposite rigid links, are fitted with carrying-means for longitudinal leaf springs which support the chassis and resist movement of the stub axles out of alignment by their torsional effort. Illustrations are given of the manner in which the linkage acts to permit movement of both the front and back pairs of wheels relative to the frame while maintaining them substantially parallel in all positions. In the form illustrated each front wheel is mounted on the independent axle section 15 which carries the springs 13, the sections 15 being connected by the pair of parallel pivoted links 18.
