415,572. Hydraulic transmission of power. TUCKER, L. C., 77, Mercer Street, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Aug. 1, 1933, No. 21615. [Class 69 (ii).] Hydraulic power transmission mechanism of the radialcylinder type is provided with means for putting the crankpin into an eccentric position, and for operating the control valves. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the crankpin EP is carried by a plate CP pivoted at one end and adjusted by a crankpin CP<1> on a spindle CS housed in the driven shaft. A collar S<3> has a pin passing through angled slots S<2> in the driven shaft and slots S<4> in the spindle. The first part of the movement of the collar turns the spindle to make the pin EP eccentric to the axes of the driving and driven shafts ; during subsequent movement, the conical part of the collar acts through levers and linkwork to close the control valves V. The pistons P are fitted with one-way leakage replenishing valves, and relief chambers with spring-pressed pistons RC<1> are provided.
