Abstract

[Class 75 (iii).] A friction-wheel is formed with the points of some or all of the teeth at different radial distances from the axis of rotation, which maybe concentric or eccentric ; and, in a straight friction member, the teeth are arranged in groups at different heights, the points of the teeth in each group being on the same level. As shown, the teeth of the wheel A may be arranged in groups, the teeth D, D<1>, D<2> or d-d<4> of each group describing concentric circles of gradually increasing radius. Alternatively, the points of the teeth in each group may be at the same radial distance from the axis of rotation. A wheel with the usual teeth may be rotatable about an eccentric axis.
