409,227. Non - return valves. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP MACHINERIEEN-EN APPARATEN FABRIEKEN, 30, Croeselaan, Utrecht, Holland. Oct. 31, 1933, No. 30213. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1932. [Class 135.] A non-return lift valve designed for noiseless operation comprises a resilient flat metal disc 2 enclosed and gripped between two rigid plates 10 so as to leave a narrow free margin, of width up to about 20 m.m., the valve disc being so thin that the free edge 2 whips or flexes under the influence of a spring 4, 5 and the fluid pressure as it closes down upon the annular seating 1. The spring consists of a number of bowed spring plates 4, with interposed flat discs 5 enclosed in a box 3, the plates 4 and discs 5 being of different metals as, for example, steel and bronze, respectively. The guide spindle 16 may be below the valve, as shown, or above.
