Abstract

405,188. Fuel-injection pumps. SOC. GENERALE DES CARBURATEURS ZENITH, 10, Rue Petitot, Geneva, Switzerland. July 4, 1933, No. 18961. Convention date, July 5, 1932. [Class 102 (i).] The shaft 10 of a fuel-injection pump is driven from an engine-driven shaft 11 through a releasable coupling comprising slotted members 12, 15, keyed to the shafts, which can be coupled by bars 23, 24 on a member 22 slidable on the member 15. The bars and slots are formed dissimilar so that the clutch can only be engaged in one angular position. The member 22 is held in the engaged and disengaged positions by means of spring-pressed balls 26 engaging recesses 28, 29. The pump shaft can be oscillated for priming by means of a lever engaging holes 30 in the member 22.
