Abstract

405,094. Fuel - injection pumps. BEARDMORE & CO., Ltd., W., Parkhead Steel Works, and GILL, H. C., 45, Almond Street, Riddrie, both in Glasgow. Dec. 14, 1932, No. 35436. [Class 102 (i).] In a fuelinjection pump in which the plunger is formed with a helical edge cooperating with the suction port B<1> to effect the spill, the port B<1> can be closed by a pad E carried by a lever E<1> turning on a pivot E<2> and pressed towards the port B<1> by a spring E<3>. In a multi-cylinder engine some or all of the cylinders may be similarly controlled and the levers can be lifted simultaneously, or in succession, by means of collars F<1>, F<2> on a sliding rod F in order to bring the cylinders into operation. Specifications 248,017, [Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.], and 376,388 are referred to.
