Abstract
404,179. Bicycles. PETTAZZONI, E., 4, Rue Chiudare, Bologna, Italy. April 11, 1933, No. 10851. [Class 136 (iii).] In a bicycle of the type having the front wheel of smaller diameter than the rear wheel, the handle-bar comprises a single central member 8 secured to the steering- stem, and two side arms 9 forming approximately a semicircle, the parts being arranged in such a manner that the handle-bar can be reversed about the axis of the steering-stem, and in the reversed position is located partly under and between the rider's thighs. The crank shaft 6 is arranged at or near the point where the front fork 1 and the head 3 adjoin, so that a vertical line from the centre of the shaft passes through the small front wheel. The upper frame member 4 has a double or slotted part under the saddle for the passage of the rear wheel. The saddle support 10 may be replaced by an upwardlycurved support to accommodate a taller rider, the handle-bar preferably then being reversed.
