[Class 78 (iv).] A heavy crane mounted on a vehicle base B, which may be of railway or of road type, is provided with pivoted arms D fitted with raising and lowering devices at E, whereby the weight may be transferred to supports F, Fig. 2, when the crane is in operative position and distributed over auxiliary trucks H, Fig. 5, when the crane is travelling. In the travelling position the arms D are connected with a link G supported on the truck H and the arrangement permits of steering movements of the truck.
