Abstract

394,562. Valve gear. BUCKLEY, A. B., Dorchester House, Park Hill, Carshalton, Surrey. Nov. 2, 1932, Nos. 30910 and 34182. [Class 7 (vi).] The tappet 5 is connected to the valve stem 2 so as to allow relative rotational but not axial movement by a split bush 11 engaging reduced portions 3, 10 formed on the valve stem and tappet respectively. The bush 11 has a tapered exterior engaging a corresponding aperture in the valvespring washer 14, and may also have tapered engagement at 10a with the tappet. The tappet is adjustable by means of a screw connection 7 with locknut 8. A disc of rubber or other resilient material may be inserted between the abutting ends of the valve stem and tappet at 4.
