[Class 110 (ii).] A rotary pump comprises a driven outer cylinder h which is secured to two inner cylinders i, i<1>, by vanes k, k<1> fixed in the outer cylinder and side walls, and sliding and rocking in semicylindrical blocks l in the cylinders i, i<1>. A driving shaft S<1> has a pinion r meshing with an external gear-wheel q integral with the cylinder h, whose end cheeks h<1>, h<11> are supported on stub shafts f, g respectively. Fluid to be pumped enters a port c to the space s which communicates with the pumping chamber by way of ports v. The fluid is delivered through ports u, t to the hollow shaft d. In an alternative arrangement, the stub shafts g are axially in alignment and are formed as divergent cones, one of which is obturated, or provided. with a safety device or bye-pass. Rings may separate the cylinders i, i<1> from the shaft d. Each cylinder i may have several vanes k, and in the two cylinders i, i<1> these may be spaced at different angles for balancing purposes.
