Abstract

394,229. Cylinders. INGERSOLLRAND CO., 15, Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey, U.S.A. Nov. 12, 1932, No. 32061. Convention date, May 11. [Class 7 (ii).] The water jacket R, of a valve cage, has a transverse partition which extends to within a short distance of the end adjacent the valve seat, so that the cooling water supplied and returned by pipes k, p, on opposite sides of the partition, circulates through the whole jacket and cools, the valve-seat, the valve-guide and the mixture or exhaust passage. The whole valve cage is preferably made as an integral unit and clamped to the cylinder by a cover plate Z.
