Abstract
505,875. Bottles &c. CLAUDEL, J. J. M. July 19, 1938, Nos. 21365 and 21366. Convention dates, July 20, 1937 and April 30, 1938. [Class 125 (i)] A portable device for obtaining a mixture in desired proportions of two or more liquids, such as oil and vinegar for instance, comprises a single pouring conduit attached to a double or multiple container or to a number of suitably connected individual containers, and embodying a contrivance for adjusting the cross-section of the passages for one or more of the liquids so that when the container is tipped for pouring, the liquids will mingle in the delivery outlet in the proper proportions. Fig. 1 shows a vinegar bottle 2 disposed within an oil bottle 1 ; the volume of oil issuing to the common delivery spout 6, disposed within the sleeve 5, when the container is inverted can be varied by rotating the spout by means of the operating ring 7, so that the openings 10, 11, in the spout and the sleeve come more or less into register. Venting passages-14, 17, are provided to facilitate the pouring of the contents. Fig. 3 shows a pair of independent containers 18, 19, secured in a common base 20 and provided with a common neck-ring 21 to which is secured by a screw collar 22 a distributer body 23 formed with channels 24, 25, communicating with the containers and leading into a spout 26 provided on a threaded head-part 27. The openings of the channels can be made to register respectively with a large slot 29 allowing the passage of a uniform quantity of one liquid and a series of graduated openings 30 formed in. a sleeve 28 rotatable by means of a head 31 permitting the delivery of the other liquid to be varied as desired. Venting means (not shown) are provided in this construction also. The operating ring 7, Fig. 1, or the head 31, Fig. 3, may be fitted with an index moving over an external scale &c. to enable the proportions of the mixture to be readily controlled.
