Abstract

389,890. Garment stands ; joints. WILLIAMS BROS. & PIGGOTT, Ltd. and PIGGOTT, J. C., Herbert Road, Small Heath, Birmingham. Oct. 10, 1931, No. 28179 and 30165. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (v).] A stand or rail comprises two upright end tubes 1, 2, provided with arms 5, castors 6 carried on the arms, and cylindrical sockets 8 and two horizontal spaced tubes 3, 4, the upper tube 3 having sockets 18 that fit closely over the ends of the uprights 1, 2 and the lower tube 4 being releasably held in the sockets 8 by screw means 12. Extension rails 20 are provided to the upper horizontal rail. The lower tube 4 is secured in the socket 8 by a screw 11, Fig. 2, passing through an aperture 10 and engaging a fixed plug 15 via the recess 17 a nut or collar 13 preventing movement of the screw in an axial direction but allowing free rotation.
