389,387. Pistons. FLOWER, A., 22, Lonsdale Road, Barnes, London. March 9, 1932, No. 23059. Divided on 389,649. [Class 122 (i).] In a piston of the kind comprising a light metal head 2, cast on to a tubular steel skirt 3, portions 6 of the latter are of enlarged diameter, such that when, after casting, these portions are reduced to the working diameter there will be no clearance between the head and skirt at the normal working temperature. The reduction may be effected by drawing the piston through a ring. Specification 389,649 is referred to.
