Abstract
388,767. Rotary pumps. STOTHERT & PITT, Ltd. and PITT, R. B., Newark Works, Bath. Sept. 1, 1931, No. 24578. [Class 110 (ii).] A rotary pump is provided with means to secure unidirectional delivery of the fluid being pumped with the rotor turning either clockwise or anticlockwise. In the Figure, a rotor 4 on a shaft 2 co-operates with a toothed member 6 to deliver fluid from an inlet 8 to an outlet 9. An eccentric ring 10 surrounding the member 6 is turned by friction on reversal of the rotor, the movement being limited by a screw 11 and stops 12, to 180‹. The ring 10 may be supported by roller bearings 15. A hand-lever may be used to effect reversal of the ring, and a pointer provided to indicate the ring position.
