[Class 100 (i).] Sheet-registering devices.-Sheets to be printed are registered accurately on the impression or bed plate of the printing-machine by illuminating the impression space by means of luminous rays, which permit the space on the sheet which is marked or indicated for an impression to be brought into register therewith. For printing on thin or transparent sheets on a bed plate a the rays from a glow lamp d are transmitted through a transparent support c arranged over an aperture b in the plate a. The impression space may be sharply defined by means of an aperture g in a frame f of thin metal which is placed on the bed d. In a modification for dealing with opaque sheets, the impression space may be illuminated from a source of light above the bed a arranged either laterally of the printing-mechanism or close to the printing-surface. A lens may be used to project a beam of light on to the bed so as to define the impression area.
