Abstract

386,150. Emergency exits for vehicles. ALLEN, R. E. H., 128, Piccadilly, and WEYMANN'S MOTOR BODIES (1925), Ltd., 22, Austin Friars, both in London. Feb. 26, 1932, No. 5846. [Class 108 (i).] The roof of a vehicle is provided with a number of hinged panels forming emergency-exits and adapted to be locked or released by a single control device. The panels 11 are hinged at 12 and are provided with members 16 having bosses 17 at their ends adapted to be engaged and disengaged by cylindrical bushes 19 arranged on an endwise movable rod operated by a lever 15. The bosses 17 are provided with slots 18 adapted to pass over the rod 14 when the bosses 19 are withdrawn from engagement. Conical portions 20, 21 are provided to prevent rattling. If desired more than one control device may be provided, each control device however locking &c. a number of panels.
