Abstract

385,502. Piles. DEUREN, P. VAN, 361, Avenue de Tervueren, Brussels. April 12, 1932, No. 10522. Convention date, March 25. [Class 68 (ii).] A pile is built up of elements 2, Fig. 1, having holes 2a passing through and opening into grooves 2b. The elements are held together laterally by metal stirrups 5 engaging the holes 2a and having bent ends 5a of a length equal to twice the thickness of an element (as shown for example in Fig. 3). The pile is also reinforced by vertical rods 4 assembled by screwing together as at 4b, the whole being rendered solid by cement grout poured into the holes 2a. The rods in the lower part of the body of the pile, Figs. 6, 7, and 8, are screwed to bolts 7a projecting from a point 7, and the rods projecting at 4a from the top are received in holes 8a of a head-piece 8.
