Abstract

382,734. Stays. STEANE, J. and STEANE, Ltd., J. & A., Markham Road, Bournemouth. Oct. 16, 1931, No. 287.79. [Class 65 (i).] A stay for casement &c. windows, doors, &c. comprises a guide-bar a of channel section, a slide e arranged within the guide and a pair of springs f adapted to contact directly with both sides of the channel guide to produce a frictional resistance to movement, a stay-bar g being pivoted at one end of the slide e. One side, preferably the lower side, of the channel guide a is open and is provided with inturned flanges b to retain the slide e which has recesses in each side to accommodate the springs f which are of bowed form. The guide a has its ends closed by stoppers j and is attached to the window &c. d by screws c.
