Abstract

381,473. Cigarette-making machines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(American Machine & Foundry Co.; 511, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) March 15, 1932, No. 7717. [Class 130.] Tobacco is showered into a V-shaped channel formed by belts 15, 16 which are guided between their pulleys by side and top plates 32, 33. At their discharge end the angle between the belts is inverted compressing the tobacco downwardly on to the paper P passing over a guide tape 36 and forming channel 39. Top pressure is exerted by members 43, 44 between the belts and by member 40 over the deepening channel 39. The member 40 may be extended to form a scraper 45 between the belt surfaces, or the scraper 45 may be formed separately.
