376,157. Motor vehicle differential and driving gearing. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES., Untert³rkheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Nov. 19, 1931, No. 32081. Convention date, Nov. 22, 1930. [Classes 79 (ii), 79 (iii), and 79 (iv).] The differential gear casing 4 of a vehicle having pivoted axles 9 is connected to the chassis frame 2, 3 at three points 6, 7, 8, the connection being made elastic at one or more points, as, e.g., by the use of rubber blocks. In the construction shown the casing is connected to the frame members 2 or 3 by bolts 14, rubber blocks 16, 17 being held in recesses in lugs 7 on the casing and being clamped by the bolts between washers 18, 19. The half axles 9 are pivoted at 10, 11 to the differential casing and are preferably connected to the frame by unguided helical springs 12, 13. The axle shafts 21 are connected to the differential gear by universal joints 20 in line with the pivots 10, 11.
