374,103. Cutting coal, rock, &c. ; saws. JONES, O. E. (Representative of JONES, G. T.), 16, Stuart Street, Pontyclun, Glamorgan, KEMP, W., Heathly, Rhiwbina, Cardiff, and PUGH, E., 17, Alfred Street, Ebbw Vale. March 3, 1931, No. 6512. [Class 68 (i).] A rotary saw for cutting coal, rock &c. comprises two or more metal discs at least one of which is dished and each formed round its periphery with a series of teeth, the discs being connected concentrically as by rivets and preferably having aligned central openings for connection to a driving shaft. In Fig. 2, three discs 11, 12, 13 are centrally dished and are secured by a common ring of rivets 17 beyond which the disc 11 is flat while the discs 12, 13 are again dished and connected by rivets 23. The central opening 19 is square. In Fig. 3, the two upper discs are connected by rivets 32 at the outer dishing and the two lower discs are connected by rivets 34 and distance pieces 33. In each case, the tips of the teeth of one disc are preferably at about the same radius as the roots of the teeth of another disc. A number of such saws may be mounted side by side on a common shaft.
