373,986. Fabrics, yarns, &c., formed from cellulosic strip material. SYLVANIA INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION, 122, East 42nd Street, New York, U.S.A. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35896. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Classes 120 (iii) and 142 (iv).] Yarns, threads, cords, ropes, &c. are formed by folding, twisting, plaiting, &c. thin strips of transparent or translucent viscose regenerated cellulose, cellulose acetate, or other ester or ether derivative, of cellulose, or mixture or compound thereof, into filaments 14, Fig. 3, for making into plain woven or braided fabrics &c. The strip may comprise waste strips 10, 11, Fig. 1, joined end to end by twisting or glueing and may be dyed or conditioned with glycerine or a glycol. Two or more strips may be twisted together and secured by glue, cement, acetone lacquers, &c. The fabric may have as warp or weft, cotton, wool, rayon, silk, flax, jute, ramie, reed, willow, twine, metal, wire, &c. or a combination of these, and may be used for seat, floor, wall, and upholstery coverings, draperies, baskets, mats, window shades, slippers, &c. In an example reference is made to a roll of film ¢-¥ inch wide and about 0.001 inch thick.
