371,280. Steam turbines. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27727. Convention date, Oct. 20, 1930. [Class 110 (iii).] A liner 6 surrounding the dummy balancing piston 2 of a turbine 3 is rigidly connected at one end to the casing 4, and is supported at the other end in an axially yielding manner to permit of expansion. The yielding support may consist of bolts 8, or bridge-pieces 8<1>. A flange 11 may act as a protective gutter against windage for rotors having partial admission. The nozzle-boxes 5 are arranged as shown.
