Abstract

368,411. Wheel tyres. GOLSTEIN, E., 25, Kronprinzenstrasse, Rheydt, Rhineland, Germany. Dec. 12, 1930, No. 37536. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 20, 1931.] [Class 144 (ii).] The tread of a wheel tyre consists of a rubber composition which is mixed throughout with compressible and elastic material in granular form, such as pieces of cork or elder pith. The pieces are partly compressed during vulcanization of the composition, but, in wear, expand and drop out, leaving the rubber surface indented or pitted. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the granular material as being impregnated with rubber solution under reduced pressure, and as projecting from the tread surface in wear. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
