Abstract

A cleansing-composition for removing grease from the hands &c is made by mixing an aqueous emulsion of rubber or similar vegetable resin, with an aqueous suspension of a light abrasive to form a friable coagulum. Emulsions of raw or reclaimed, vulcanized or unvulcanized rubber, or of balata or guttapercha may be used, or a concentrated latex such as are described in Specifications 219,635 and 290,313, [both in Class 70, Indiarubber &c.]. Suitable abrasives are pumice, french chalk or talc. Potassium oleate may be added to stabilize the emulsion, together with glycerin or other deliquescent substance. Colours, perfumes, depilatories, disinfectants, bleaching agents or astringents may also be added.
