Abstract
362,662. Ironing-machines. TULLIS, D. K. and JACK, W., Kilbowie Iron Works, Clydebank. Dec. 1, 1930, No. 36101. [Class 138 (ii).] The rollers 1 and concave steam-heated beds 5 are concyclically arranged in upwardly convex arcs and, after leaving the last roller, the goods are passed between an endless band 8 and the lower faces of other steam chests 6 arranged in another arc as shown. When the goods return to the feeding side of the machine they are passed back to the delivery side between the lower flight of the endless band 8 and the upper flight of another endless band 9 the front portion 16 of which is used as the initia feed to the rollers 1. The gaps between the lower steam chests are bridged by perforated webs 14 which facilitate the drying of the goods. The end webs 15 also are perforated. The spur wheels 12 of the rollers 1 are driven by a common idler 13 of which the centre coincides with that of the arc 11 around which the centres of the rollers are arranged.
