Abstract

360,733. Sacks for coal &c. HAWLEY & CO. (WALSALL), Ltd., J. and HAWLEY, J. W., Bloxwich Road, Walsall. Jan. 1, 1931, No. 9. [Class 94 (ii).] A bag for coal &c. having its sides constructed of strips of material formed from discarded pneumatic tyre covers, as described in Specification 232,138, [Class 94 (ii), Paper bags &c.], is formed with a separately constructed bottom portion, the arrangement enabling the bag to stand upright for filling. The overlapping edges 2 of vertical strips of discarded pneumatic tyre covers 1 are sewn together at 3 to form the walls of a bag having a bottom 4 formed of two similar strips and secured to the walls by seams in which the lower edge 6 of the wall and the edge 5 of the bottom are disposed in the same direction. The mouth of the bag is formed with a strengthening band 8 and the bag is provided with carrying handles 9 and auxiliary handles 10. An eyelet 11 allows moisture to drain away.
