495,089. Carrier bags. RYDOW, S. A. W. Jan. 29, 1937, No. 2708. Void. Convention date, Feb. 3, 1936. [Classes 94 (ii) and 133] A paper carrier-bag is charac terized by reinforcing members 4 5 in the form of cords &c. extend ing continuously from one side wall across the bottom to the other side wall thereof, sucl members being shaped also as carrying handles 2, 3, and secure( to the outer bag side walls, anc preferably, also, the bag bottom, by means of strips 6 of fabric &c. glued to the bag and covering parts of the cords &c. The cords may be inclined downwardly and outwardly from the carrying handles. The portions of the bag above the points 8 may be folded inwardly to cover the contents. The portions of the cords &c. below the bag bottom may be connected to each other by other cords &c. to afford further reinforcement.
