Abstract

Superheaters or parts thereof are made from a steel of known composition which contains 5-7 per cent of chromium, 0,5-3 per cent of aluminium and which has been subjected to rolling. The steel preferably contains less than 0,2 per cent of carbon and not more than 0,02 per cent of sulphur, but may contain other constituents such as for example 0,3-0,8 of molybdenum, less than 2 per cent of silicon and less than 1 per cent of manganese. In two examples the steel contains also 0,05 per cent of vanadium, and is subjected to a seamless rolling process.
