Abstract

358,815. Removing condensed water from window sashes. VOEPEL, O., 15, Schillbachstrasse, Jena, Germany. Dec. 22, 1930, No. 38500. Convention date, Jan. 2. [Class 20 (iii).] Condensed water from the surface of a window pane is conducted a w a y through a space maintained by members f between the lower edge of the pane and a rabbeted member a formed on or inserted in the sash, the outer boundary of which is lower than the inner flange. An air-seal may be formed by a felt or spongy rubber insertion between the glass and channel or by means of a water-holding channel formed in the member a, Fig. 3. The space between the pane and the member a is widened at the top to collect the water. Flanged sides b are provided on the members a to protect the sash corners. The pane may be fixed at the sides and top with putty &c.
