Abstract

503,360. Weather-excluders for casement windows. PERCIVAL, S. (Chamberlin Metal Weatherstrip Co.) Feb. 28, 1938, No. 6233. [Class 20 (iii)] A casement window has depending portions on its lower edge forming inner and outer rabbets and a channel-shaped member is provided on the sill, one limb 20 of which contacts one of said rabbets and the second limb 25 contacts a resilient weather excluding strip 26 positioned in the second rabbet. The limbs 20, 25 may be rigid. A resilient tongue 71 may be provided to co-operate with the. resilient strip as shown in Fig. 5. Auxiliary weather excluding means are preferably provided at the head and sides of the casement. Drain holes 72 are formed in the channel.
