[Class 116.] In a conveyer for telegrams, papers, &c., of the kind in which belts B\ B<2>, B<3> lie over each other as they pass over a roller A at the sending station and are then separated by traversing guide-plates or rollers e<1>, e<2>, e<3> so that the telegrams &c. can be placed on the belts, after which the belts are again brought into close contact and passed over a roller gin the formation they had before separation, in order that the articles placed on the belt B<1> may be gripped securely, an additional belt b is provided which is disposed so that its lower surface is in contact with and driven by the belt B<1>. Articles placed on the belts at the sending station are deposited automatically in boxes J<1>, J<2>, J<3>. Articles placed on the return runs of the belts at L<1>, L2, L3 are conveyed to collecting boxes K<1>, K2, K<3>. Retaining belts M<1> .. M<8> are provided. Articles are conveyed from a lower floor and deposited on the return run of the belt B<1> at L<5> by a belt C. In order to facilitate the removal of sheets from the belts at collecting boxes, fingers p<1>, P<2>, Fig. 2, at the collecting points engage recesses q, Fig. 3, in the belts.
