Abstract

328,326. Harley, A. Jan. 26, 1929. Discharging and feeding devices for endless - belt conveyers.-In apparatus for the manufacture of plaster wall boards, of the type comprising a layer of plaster interposed between two sheets of paper, cardboard, &c., which are severed into slabs and finally conveyed through a drying apparatus, the severed slabs pass over accelerating rollers to a transfer device and are assembled two abreast and delivered to the drier. The transfer device comprises a series of belts 61, Fig. 11, carried by a vertically. movable frame and co-operating with pick-up and delivery rollers 60, 62 aligned respectively with the accelerating rollers and the drier. With the frame lowered, a pair of slabs are transferred to the rollers 60. The frame is then raised and the slabs conveyed and deposited on bars 64. When the frame is again raised the slabs are conveyed from the bars 64 to the rollers 62 which are driven oppositely to the rollers 60 and deliver the slabs to a tipple conveyer hinged about one end and adapted to deliver the slabs to theappropriate tier of the drier.
