Abstract

356,988. Valve generating circuits. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C., 1. Lorenzweg. Tempelhof, Berlin. Oct. 29, 1930, No. 32533. Convention date, Nov. 9, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] Relates to frequency - multiplying valve circuits of the kind in which the grid is biased so that only the peaks of the fundamental input wave cause anode current to flow; and consists in supplying the negative bias partly by a constant voltage source and partly by an impedance such as a resistance W1 which supplies additional bias to an extent dependent on the grid current flowing therein. With this automatic adjustment of bias, the multiplier is not rendered inoperative by variations in amplitude of the input wave, such as are liable to occur when a fundamental wave is distributed to a number of equalwave broadcasting stations. The input transformer L1, L2 may itself furnish the automatic grid bias, if it is constructed to have a large stray field. The plate circuit which includes a circuit C2, L3 tuned to the desired harmonic, may also include a resistance W2.
