Abstract
352,645. Centrifugal machines. ALTPETER, L., 38, Walpurgisstrasse, Essen, and GUTEHOFFNUNGSHœTTE OBERHAUSEN AKT.-GES., Oberhausen, Rhineland, both in Germany. May 20, 1930, No. 15505. [Class 23.] Treating substances with liquids.-Fine material, such as coal dust, Glauber salts, oil sand or the like, is washed and separated from liquid in a centrifuge. The parts 1, 2 of the centrifuge can be separated hydraulically, for the discharge of the washed material. The machine has a distributing plate 5 upon which the material falls from the pipe 4. From the plate the material is thrown outwards to a jacket 7 of conical form from which it passes to the middle of the separator drum. The solids are washed by liquid from the sprinklers 8; this may be accomplished during the passage of the material from the plate 5 to the drum wall. The washing liquid is drawn off through the pipe 9 secured to the upper part 1 of the drum, and is collected in the trough 10.
