Abstract

299,422. Aktiebolaget Separator. Oct. 26, 1927, [Convention date]. Density separators.-The bowl of a separator for the treatment of liquids such as wool washing water, has two outlets 4, 6 for the continuous discharge of light and heavy liquid respectively, and a series of channels 9 communicating with a zone near the bowl wall, for the continuous discharge of the solid impurities together with a suitable quantity of liquid. The material is supplied through the central tube 1 and distributing holes 3 to the space beneath the discs 2. The outlet 4 is bored in a regulating screw 12. The heavy liquid outlet 6 may be varied by using discs with holes of different diameters for dipscharge openings. The channels 9 communicate with outlets 10 in exchangeable nozzles 11. In a modification the solids are discharged through openings in the bowl wall. Scrapers or the like may be used to convey the solids from the sludge space to that part of the bowl from which they are discharged. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 296,178.
