Abstract

352,334. Handle-bars; control mechanism. AMALGAMATED CARBURETTERS, Ltd. and TISDELL, T. A., Holford Works, Holford Drive, Perry Barr, Birmingham. Sept. 27, 1930, No. 28997. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii).] The outer end portions of the handle-bar carrying the lever &c. controls are formed separately from, and have a spigotal connection with, the central portion of the handle-bar, so that by temporary or permanent relative adjustment of the handle-bar parts about the spigotal connections, different shapes of handle-bar can be obtained, the controls being operable in any of the angular positions of adjustment. In the form shown, the outer or grip portion 5 of the handle-bar has a spigotal connection with the central part 3, and carries a twist grip 6 and two L-shaped control levers 7 pivotally mounted at their short ends, one above and one below an integral boss formed on the portion 5, the Bowden wire transmissions being arranged within the handle-bar. The abutments for the Bowden wire casings are formed by bosses on the portion 5.
