[Class 110 (ii).] Movable abutment type.-In a rotary pump suitable for pumping viscose or thick oil, a rotor e fixed to a shaft d has three radial slots g to accommodate the outward movement of three pistons f which are caused by the rotor to slide round an eccentric annular channel c. Rollers h are secured on pins to the pistons. Inlet and outlet ports which are connected to conduits i, j, respectively, lead into grooves k, l, in the side wall of the annular pumping space. The bracket t has two faces u by which the pump is supported. Fig. 5 shows the annular chamber c in a separate disc m which is supported by screws n. The capacity of the pump is regulated by moving the disc m radially on guide pegs. A sleeve o is rotatable about the shaft d and is integral with an eccentric p which moves the disc m. The outer end of the sleeve o has a graduated head q. The position of the inlet port may be varied to charge the point of cut-off and so regulate the pumping capacity.
