Abstract

350,342. Ships' stern frames. HINDMARSH, J., 59, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff. Sept. 11, 1930, No. 27172. [Classes 113 (ii) and 114.] For controlling the slip stream of a screw propeller 3 the sternpost 2 is provided with two vertically disposed plates 1 which are set at opposite angles above and below the propeller axis. These plates project forwardly into close proximity with the propeller. Aft they are projected at 4 in a fore and aft line above and below the rudder pintles. The plates may be strengthened laterally by angle-bars.
