349,924. Loop tube heat exchangers. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.- (Lewis, A. T. ; Calvert Road, and French, D. ; 501, Rockland Road, both in Merion, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) Nov. 28, 1929, No. 36517. [Class 64 (iii).] Copper tubes 15 of a heating coil are joined to steel header plates 13, 14 by means of molten bronze 27 having a melting-point not more than 300‹ F. below that of the tubes, and the parts of the tube adjacent the joint are cooled. The headers are completed by plates 17, 18 welded to the plates 13, 14 at 19. The holes in the header plate are counterbored for reception of the bronze.
