345,530. Stop valves. CLARK, E. G., Kynance, Pelham Road, Bexley Heath, Kent. April 16, 1930, No. 12093. [Class 135.] Lift valves; leakage, discharging.-In a water-tap or stop-cock having a water inlet and a water outlet formed on the same side of the closure washer m for simultaneous opening and closing, the closure washer is made in the form of a cupleather closely fitting the wall of a cylinder a formed with the body of the tap. The inlet and outlet openings are formed by upstanding lips or flanges d, p, as shown. Any leakage above the valve member is drained away to the outlet b by a passage r in the valve spindle. A vent opening s in the valve cover is closed in the open position of the valve by an auxiliary closure disc t. The valve is closed down by the action of the rotary threaded sleeve j, and opened by water pressure.
