Abstract
341,835. Vehicle luggage racks. SMITH, C. W., 10, Fair View, Grant Street, Edgbaston, Birmingham. June 12, 1930, No. 17993. [Class 103 (ii).] In a two-part folding luggage grid for motor vehicles, the rear section 3 is supported at each side in its operative position by. means of pivoted links 8, 9 hinged at their inner ends to levers 10, 11, which in turn are pivotally mounted at 12, 13 on vehicle supporting arms or brackets 6, 7, the forward ends 14, 15 of the levers 10, 11 being adapted to engage suitable locking means when the grid is extended. The locking arrangement shown consists of sliding bolts 21, 22 movable in slots 18, 19 in the arms 6, 7 and co-acting with end notches in the extensions 14, 15.
